About the Balm: It will keep years under refrigeration. At room temperature it will start to get a stronger tallow odor after about 6 months but is still fine to use. If the balm becomes grainy (this sometimes happens after a few months or if it softens during warm temperatures), melt it in your oven at 120 to 150°F (49 to 56°C) and then let in solidify in the refrigerator. This gives it a smoother texture. Each batch has its own characteristics because this is a natural product. Sometimes it is softer, other times firmer.
Information About Beef Tallow: Tallow contains the natural fat-soluble vitamins A, D, and K, as well as vitamin E, which are found only in animal fats and which are all necessary for general health and skin health. Tallow also contains fats like conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which has anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as palmitoleic acid, which has natural antimicrobial properties.
